shoe_2_250.jpgFirst, take your worn out athletic shoe (of any brand) and go to the nearest Reuse-A-Shoe drop-off location. We have locations at some Nike Stores, other retail stores, athletic clubs, schools and colleges. In the U.S., we also partner with members of the National Recycling Coalition, and we have Reuse-A-Shoe programs and locations around the world, in Canada, the U.K., Netherlands, Germany, Australia, and Japan. Next, your shoes are shipped to one of our processing facilities – one in Oregon, USA and the other in Belgium – to be ground up into a material called Nike Grind.

Then, working with our partner organizations, the Nike Grind is used to make different parts of sport surfaces in communities around the world. For example, some Nike Grind is used to cushion basketball courts, while other Nike Grind is used in synthetic soccer fields.
